He is a gelding of Małopolska breed of lubelski type (created in the Eastern Poland, Lublin city area). He a son of the Janów Podlaski-bred pinto coloured sire of Malopolska breed Artedy, scored at 80 points. Artedy is a son of the outstanding stallion Emir, gifted with great movement and balanced character and passing on his pinto coat colour to his offspring. In the male line of Emir's pedigree, which is dominated by pure Anglo-Arabian blood, we arrive at the thoroughbred French stallion Maravedis (1941) descended in a direct line from Darley Arabian (1716) - one of the founders of the thoroughbred breed. Emir graduated from the training centre with an outstanding mark and with great jumping abilities unfortunately died prematurely, leaving 90 horses registered with Polish Horse Breeders Association. Emir's dam was an outstanding representative of Janów's best line of half-bred horses - Emerycha, mother of 13 foals including 5 stallions and 8 mares. It is a line that originated from the Dahomans and Shagya.
On the female side of the pedigree, Faust is descended from the line of, among others, the mare Frezja, who won First Prize at the National Breeding Animals Exhibition in Warsaw in 1991. Faust's great-granddaughter is a daughter of Frezja and the stallion Lotos, whose dam, Hrabina, also won First Prize at the National Show in Warsaw in 1988.
Faust is a very courageous, sturdy and trusting horse, concentrated and calm when working which makes him an ideal companion for young riders.
